The Female Monk is a high ranking member of the sangha (Buddhist Monk Community). She is the voice of concern and reason. In this short film she questions the reasoning behind the Rinpoche's actions. I imagine her to be older, have a mature voice, soft spoken and very empathetic and concerned in tone.
Why have you chosen his name to be Kamala?
The name ordination ceremony is important to the students. A chance to forge a new identity with new found hope amongst the brothers and sisters of the sangha. Customarily the elder chooses the name to fit the attribute of the student so tell me you have chosen to name him Kamala?
