Having raised in a temple with very few modern conveniences, Hanamaru is fascinated by technology. Ruby's best friend and the lyricist for Aqours, Hanamaru is also a big eater. She was a kindergarten classmate of Yoshiko's and was put in charge of keeping Yoshiko's other persona, "Yohane", in check. Maru also loves reading and turns to books as her main source of entertainment.

Hanamaru's voice is on the lower side, and is relatively soft in tone. Her voice type is flexible and liberties can be taken with it, provided it fits into the low-and-soft mold, and still has energy.
