Class Session 1
CanaanKoffeeVA for Role
Full details of homework is on Closing Credits
Hey Canaan! You might want to boost the gain on your mic, your coming in QUITE softly. Or come in closer to your mic, because even the "come on in"s were pretty quiet.
Nice read overall, something I wanna highlight is the roll back on the script when you realized you had missed some words. Great work, good recovery. That's exactly correct. We want to always keep a close eye on the script and our read to catch the mistakes as they happen so we can fix them right away like that.
Pacing was pretty good, in some spots we went a shade faster than I would like and lost a bit of clarity in the read but overall we did not rush too much.
Projection wise we were at a good 5/10 Comfortably projected out to a small room, but we want to get that up to a 7/10! We want to fill out a whole gym of people! Get the folks on the top row and at the far back to hear every word clearly! Draw in more air with your breaths! Push great big columns of air out with the diaphragm! Send the script out to the masses! Don't hold back on us, we want to hear your range! Dynamics is one of the most important tools we have as voice actors, it's important to exercise it and build out our range of volume!
Great work Canaan, lovely read and can't wait to hear more!
Thank you so much for letting me know! I've been playing around with this new Rode NT1 hopefully my next send sounds a lot better projection wise.
