Nina Catlin for Rowan
Rowan is our protagonist and the largest role in the series by far, with lots of narration each episode. Applying VAs should be able to switch clearly between narration and dialogue.
Laid-back demeanor, a little sarcastic, and deeply closed off from others. Hides behind surface level charisma and wit.
Ideally, we would have her played by someone with a low or alto tone and a bit of rasp and/or vocal fry. Don't force it, though! Use your normal speaking voice and keep it as natural as possible.

(narrating) When you're on your own, you see danger around every corner. A threat in every little moment of strangeness you happen upon... It's easy to get carried away on the wings of an overactive imagination.
(speaking to someone) It's skinny, its fur's all matted, and it drags one of its paws like it's hurt. It looks old, too. Like, "there's no way this cat is still breathing without a ventilator" old. Who knows what else is wrong with it.
(angry, panicked) Dude, what the hell are you— hey! Don't fucking touch me!
