The Tayags are a farming couple who employ one of the main characters (Nic) in exchange for room & board. Nic and their son (Beau) spend a lot of time working together on the farm, and quickly began dating in secret. While not outright homophobic, Mr. and Mrs. Tayag are disappointed when Beau announces that he and Nic are engaged, stating that they "always assumed he would settle down with one of the girls from town, somebody they knew" and making excuses to stall on wedding preparations. Their arc does end with them becoming more supportive of Nic and Beau.
Beau's mother is in her mid 40s to late 50s. She has less than 5 lines, and her actor has the potential to return for a minor role in future audiobooks.
