Lights up on Mel leaning against the wall of a brick building in an alleyway, Leon a few feet away from her. She is smoking. It is late evening and wet. We are no longer in the emptyspace. While the previous line fades into this conversation, we are only now entering the real world.
A moment of silence. They look at each other for a long beat. We hear the rain. They are connected, as if the memories of what happened throughout the play are reflected in their eyes. They are no longer strangers.
