The Mercenary is a bodyguard for the lead scientist for the S.U.N lab division. The lead scientist Doctor Z got corrupted by the corruption and is the whole reason why the corruption is evolving faster than it should've. The Mercenary still believes he can fix and save Dr Z but he doesn't know hes slowly getting corrupted. In turn he is a boss in the game trying to stop the player from hurting Dr Z and doing anything to stop them if necessary.
Stoic, loyal, and fiercely protective.
Haunted by guilt for failing Dr. Z and humanity.
Believes redemption can come from sacrifice — even if it means his own.
Before corruption, he was quiet and methodical, after corruption, desperate and obsessive.
During corruption: Deep, steady tone with weary conviction. Static distortion, glitch effects, growling undertone.
After defeat (if purified): Calm, relieved whisper.
