Project: Fleur
Bennett Pendragon for Extras
Character Description
While listed as “extras,” this is a surprisingly important role in the short. The voices of the audience shape one of the most critical scenes: Fleur’s failure to complete her performance. At first, the audience murmurs with confusion, amusement, and judgment. These scattered voices eventually merge and fade into Emilie Bellerose’s commanding tone, symbolizing how Fleur’s psyche internalizes both ridicule and her grandmother’s abuse.
Requirements
Flexible voice actors who can provide natural-sounding murmurs, whispers, and short commentary.
Ability to shift from casual audience chatter to sharp, judgmental remarks.
Must be comfortable layering multiple takes (different tones, volumes, and reactions).
Performance Tips
Keep the delivery believable, not theatrical—you are ordinary people in a crowd reacting in real time.
Try a few takes where your voice sounds amused, annoyed, or dismissive.
Layer in subtle muttering under your breath; it adds texture when combined with other voices.
Remember: this is psychological pressure on Fleur. Your voices represent her inner perception of the crowd, not just random chatter.
*Pretentious amusement* Ha! Did she forget the piece? How adorable.
*Disapproving murmur* Such a shame… and she was doing so well.
*Confused* Why did she stop?
