Karl Hartmann is the premier weapon customization expert for the Angel Program. He is a master craftsman in making guns have their own identity and feel. To him every weapon is a canvas begging to be made into something unique. He and Naomi do not get along as she finds him as a vandal messing with her perfect work and Karl finds her too narrow-minded to see the potential in every weapon. Along with Naomi being vulgar and unkempt, meanwhile Karl is a professional and well composed. The two share a rivalry that's fueled every day by them being just close enough to be on the mind constantly, but just far enough to not see what the other is doing to their work.

If an Angel desires their weaponry to be customized, Karl is the to-go. His soft spoken voice and passionate demeanor makes him approachable and calming to spend time with as pair both brainstorm ideas.
