Class Session 4
Walker for Role
Full details of homework is on Closing Credits
So fun! For Robin's Race your dynamic pacing and tone that goes very low and gravelly and then pretty high is very engaging. I was so surprised at how different your tongue twister was - very soothing! Very nice range!
What a great character for you! Would be a good one to keep in your ‘rolodex’ of characters to draw from! I’d make notes about this character - the style, where the voice sits, name the character, etc. and add it to your list of characters you can draw from for other projects. It helps to have them written down for easy reference at a future date. You may even want to add/save a sample audio file of this character speaking so you can easily refer back to it.
Nice work with identifying your context.
When you’re picturing your scene and context, make solid and specific decisions instead of vague notions. Choose one location. Also picture how your audience is dynamically responding to you as you speak the various points. What are you doing as you are speaking to the children? Pacing? Gesturing? Holding something? Etc. The more details we picture the more it brings it to life.
Your audio is a little low. Try to have waveform peaks for yelling/loud projection land between -9 dB and -3 dB. For normal talking, try to have the waveform peaks between -12 and -6 dB. Shoot for -3dB of headroom.
0:47 A little trip-up with “relentlessly”.
0:59 “Don’t” ended up a little slurred/not fully pronounced clearly.
Great change-up with the tongue-twister character! Good showing range in auditions like this with the second take. I agree with Callie’s comments too. :D
Overall, fantastic read! Keep up the excellent work!
