Class Session 1
Angela for Role
Full details of homework is on Closing Credits
This read had great articulation and the energy throughout had some great variety given in this performance. Great job!
Good start with the projection, but it has a bit of a tendency to come off as you're yelling at the audience as opposed to just trying to project to your crowd. Try your best to focus on projecting, but you have a great voice that feels naturally projected, you brought a great energy that feels genuine here.
You have a nice smile throughout this read, and you're having some great fun throughout this read. Which is definitely something I want you to hold to this, you're willing to have fun with a scripts as sometimes the scripts we get as actors might not be the most interesting and you'll have to make it sound as the most fun as possible.
One thing I want you to be aware of, is to a degree, there is a tendency for you to be consistent when it comes to how you say some of the more repetitious parts of this script. Specifically, listen to how you sound when it comes to the beginning of sentences. It gets a bit consistent which is something we try to avoid, as we want to prevent what is called, “the droning effect”
I notice that your energy tends to slow down a bit towards the end of the read, and I'm unsure if that's an acting choice, or you're starting to get a bit tired there, just something to look out for!
There's a bit of stumbles in the beginning so just be careful of that, don't be afraid to also start off slower so you can potentially conserve energy. But one thing I want to highlight is that your breath control is pretty good as you're able to get through some of these long winded sentences through staggered breathing or just taking a bigger breath towards the beginning.
All in all, great energy, let's see how you improve in the coming weeks!
