Nice read! If I were to ask for a second take, I would have liked to have seen you give the read with much higher energy like you were watching the events unfolding live and trying to quickly explain it to your audience who is listening to you. Really let loose and play with the words and have fun with it! When you have fun, your listeners will also enjoy it more too. For inspiration for scripts like this, take a listen to live event announcers for sports games or sports radio announcers or commentators and see how they deliver a scene like this. Add physicality to the read too to increase movement in the words of the script.

If you have the opportunity after this VA 101 class, I highly recommend taking VA 201 which goes through the emotional rollercoaster. It really helped me start making solid advancements in my voice acting journey. :)

Don’t forget to tell us who your audience and demographics are in your homework. Really consider specifics of who, what, where, when, why and how. Think about how your audience is dynamically responding to you as you speak to them. If it’s a crowd watching this game, how do they react to each of these things? Are they standing up and screaming, booing, shouting for victory as they cheer on their team? How loud is it? Can you hear a pin drop? How loud would your character need to be - are they out in the open or up in an enclosed booth? Considering the context as you imagine the scene will continue to help bring the script to life and lift the words off the page. 

0:17 In commercials, when you get to the brand name, slow it down a tad and give it some extra love. This is the client who’s paying you! They want their name to be remembered positively in commercials.

0:42 Read “up” instead of “in”.

0:48 Read “Silviani sad” instead of “Silvianis’s sad”. Words that have “s” at the end and “s” at the beginning of the next one can be challenging. A good way to ensure you pronounce the entire word is to slow down a little so you can comfortably leave enough space to say both words naturally.

Don’t forget to include the tongue twisters with your homework going forward.

    Thank you so much for the feedback Melody. I will definitely take this advice to heart moving forward. I'm sorry I had not realized that a read of the tongue twister was also part of the homework, I thought you all were just encouraging us to do them a few times. I understand better now, and will apply it to the homework moving forward. Thank you again.
