Wax for Narrator - True Self
Role: Narrator
This story explores body dysphoria and transformation in a post-body future. The narrator finally becomes their “true self”, a form beyond human, beyond the physical, yet one that feels like home at last. It’s a delicate, emotional, and affirming piece that deserves authenticity in its telling.
Requirements:
Effeminate/androgynous male voice OR transgender/non-binary VA (authentic representation strongly encouraged)
Ability to convey intimacy, vulnerability, and quiet wonder
Comfort with existential and transformative themes
Narration should feel grounded, not performative - a personal confession more than a performance

She never asked me about the surgeries I didn't want, the hormones I wasn't interested in, the pronouns that felt as ill-fitting as everything else. She just said, "Tell me what feels right," and accepted my silence as an answer. Because nothing did. Nothing human, anyway.
"Sometimes I think you're not from here at all," she whispered once. "Like the ocean's just keeping you until you can go home." She meant it as a love letter. I heard it as prophecy.
Ah and sorry for any background audio! Rushed a bit and people will in the house. If we work on this project together, I'll be recording in an empty, quiet house.
