The man known only as "Paycheck" is the leader of The Society, a ring of mercenaries who take contracts from the corporations. Paycheck selects the contracts he feels are relevant, and distributes them to his mercenaries. Since each contract can have an impact on the influence of one or two of the major corporations, this man single-handedly controls the economy of the entire country.
