HW Review:

Hey Cauliflawa! Only one script was required for this submission, but I'm glad you took a shot at both scripts and submitted them! I will be mostly focusing on the first script, but the review points that I've made below can be applied to both of your reads.

There's a few aspects of your submission that I am going to be focusing on that you should be aware of so that you can work towards improving on these points.

Starting off, you fall into the habit of pronouncing your "T"s as "D"s from the very first "Peter Pettigrew". When you over-articulate for a "T" word, I want you to really focus on how your tongue is positioning itself when you speak. Where the tip of your tongue hits the roof of your mouth and how long it stays there when you say a word is going to affect the "T" and "D" sounds.

I'm glad that you are practicing the stop, pause, and retake method for fumbles, but here's the catch; you sound like you are correcting yourself when you correct yourself. For example, at 0:44, you heavily emphasize "down" when you realize you missed it. When you correct a fumble, you do not want to sound as if you've just corrected a mistake. Going forward, don't emphasize your corrections when you make a mistake.

I'm not sure if you went into these scripts cold without practicing them first (if you did, props to you for challenging yourself!), but regardless, I will recommend that you practice reading out loud more often. Advertisements, recipes, books, road signs, ect. Start reading out loud every chance you get, and you will find that script reading, cold or rehearsed, will come to you with more ease.

You have a very crisp and friendly voice print and I'm looking forward to hearing how much you can improve over the next few weeks with some continued practice. Keep it up!

Oh, my goodness! Thank you for tall the insight! And yes, I went into the script completely raw.
