I liked your read. It felt very friendly
Great projection here Je, and no worries on a projected laugh being a little strange, getting laughs to sound natural is as simple as just making yourself laugh for real, and in the case of projecting a laugh, think of the scenario where you would put a tehee in a big ad like this. It's meant as a flamboyant and characterizing brevity in the middle of the read. Like a "of course I know that person! Cuz that's me! HAHA"
A moment to hit the big hiccups I noticed. Careful reading the script, you added the word "Three" into " The G's Stand for..." and also on the "Our growing group of" You had to retake it a few times which is the right call, but your final attempt skipped "growing" and changed "group" to "grouping". Finally at the very end, a tag line like "Bug blood is better than no blood" You would want to be particularly careful to enunciate and articulate very well since it is the client's jingle. You hit "Bugs Blood" instead of "Bug Blood.
Ok now the rest of the hw you did very well with. Articulation was nice and exaggerated through the read but faltered a few times. I think that largely had to do with your pace. I believe if you gave yourself a slightly slower read speed you would have nailed the script. As it was, you had just a few times where your words tumbled into each other or you stumbled a bit on delivery. There was a bit of a sense of tension as you worked to maintain the pace you started at. If you can notice that tension, that's a sign to take a pause, breathe, and slow down some.
Great work here Jo, it was a fun read! Can't wait to hear more!
Thank you so much this is so helpful!! Especially the laugh tip, I definitely needed that!!
As for the skipped/reworded lines… I feel crazy, like how did I not notice that!! Although, I think having larger lengths of white text on a dark screen did bug my eyes a bit, so I’ll be sure to copy and paste it onto a white screen next time and see if that helps! 😂
Thank you so much again!!
