Personality and Background
Gerrard is the central character of the second Trial: Gluttony vs. Temperance. He’s a cheerful, optimistic, and likeable chef who owns a very successful high-end restaurant. Before he became famous, he worked in a small family restaurant.
Gerrard strives for culinary excellence, always trying to improve his dishes. When he’s not working, he’s experimenting in his home kitchen or throwing lavish parties. But sometimes, he misses the time when he was satisfied with cooking simple food. And Grey notices how the chef always seems to have a glass of wine nearby…
Gerrard’s story explores the themes of escalating indulgence and dealing with overwhelming expectations vs. moderation and finding joy in being good enough.
Voice Type
Rich, booming, and charismatic. A deep voice that fills the room. Ranges from hearty laughter to sharp, desperate hunger. It should be able to convey magnetism (the fun party host), warmth (the kind and generous soul), and hollowness (someone who’s never fully satisfied).
1. Booming, jolly, a bit theatrical.
Gerrard: Welcome, my friends! Don’t be shy, grab a plate, pour yourselves a drink! May this night fill your hearts and stomachs!
2. Hearty laugh.
Gerrard: Hahaha!
3. Warm, a hint of worry but stays positive.
Gerrard: What can I do to help? Let me whip something up. A… toast with milk and… butter, yes! Butter always cheers me up.
4. Anger, a hint of desperation.
Gerrard: It’s not enough. It’s never enough!
5. Sad, drunk.
Gerrard: …Because if I slow down, even for a moment… Everyone will see I’m not good enough.
