Francois is a knight of lesser renown who was often made fun of by his peers. In order to gain renown, he travels to Skyrim to best fearsome foes. He will appear in a random encounter starting at level 25, and you handle it in a variety of ways. You accept his duel to the death, refuse it (in which case he'll walk off respectfully), convince him to stand down or, if you're over level 60, he'll realize his mistake and put himself at your mercy.
