HW REVIEW
No worries about the rough start! I'm glad you left it in!
This was a "plosive", which occurs in a few areas of your audio as well. This happens when a strong blast of air "punches" the mic and creates a harsh "pop" or "boom" sound. You can avoid plosives by using a pop filter and/or foam mic cover, distancing yourself from the mic, angling the mic or your mouth so your breath does not hit the mic directly, and/or you can even use your finger or a pencil held in front of your lips to break the air before it hits your mic, just to name a handful of techniques.
Your projection isn't consistent, but your volume carries well in a few spots. You have naturally a strong voice and I can hear it peak through now and then. Keep practicing with your diaphragm. I can hear the power in your voice, once you gain a better understanding on how to control it you will be golden.
Nice control with your breath. The pacing you've chosen gave you plenty of allowance to take necessary breaths so as to avoid straining yourself. You can slow down a little when you are running through a script of lists to bring more clarity to your read.
Thank you for leaving in the fumbles! When you fumble in a script, you don't need to push through it. When you fumble, you can stop and restart from the beginning of the sentence or from the most recent natural pause to give yourself another chance to get through the line without fumbling.
I love the way you vary up the personality in your performance! That's a great way to keep the listener engaged. Nice job!
Thank you so much for this feedback! These are such helpful insights. I plan on incorporating them into future exercises.
