ShannahMoniz for Skylar
Skylar Moyo
27
Investigative journalist (print and digital)
Setting Role: Protagonist or one half of the main duo (love interest: rival lawyer)
Confident. Dry wit, with occasional frustration bleeding through. Sounds like someone who’s always two steps ahead but gets thrown off when people surprise her.
Personality Overview:Skylar is sharp-tongued, brilliant, and just a little too sure of herself.
She’s an investigative journalist who’s made a name for herself exposing corruption and holding people accountable but recently, her prose has been… well, unreadable. Her editor calls it “hostile poetry.” The final straw? A scathing 5,000-word article about a council meeting, written like a war memoir.
So now, she’s being forced into a “soft skills” book club to "reconnect with human emotion." A punishment in disguise.
Skylar hates liars, she believes truth is everything even if it hurts.
But as she’s pulled into a deeper mystery behind the book club’s members, she’s forced to question: is the truth always worth the cost?
Empathetic, but buries it under sarcasm.
Brilliant, but hard to work with.
Blunt, because she thinks sugarcoating is dishonest.
Believes she knows best, which gets her into conflicts (and trouble).
Emotionally repressed : the job has hardened her, but cracks are starting to show.
