First of all, the picture is an old joke because I'm the whitest person I know and also have a deep voice, hence white chocolate being my weird pseudonym that I never actually use.
I'm just a 30 year old man who has always hoped my voice would be used for something. As a little kid, my dream was to be a color commentator for WWF. When other kids wanted to be The Rock or Stone Cold I wanted to be Jim Ross. In 2009 I had a radio personality tell me my voice was better than his, which was years after people already told me my voice was good, but that was what triggered my desire to initially get into broadcasting. I've gone back and forth on what I wanted to do with my voice someday, but voice acting was always on the top of that list. The only thing I knew I could never do is sing, that's just cruel.
I finally decided to do this from the encouragement of a beautiful woman, which I feel like is how I make far too many of my decisions, but this was a good one. It was that conversation which led me to discover that site and the encouraging community it possesses. I have yet to see a single negative comment on any of the unpaid auditions I've looked at, which is awesome.
I may never be a professional voice actor, but now for the first time in 30 years, I can say I tried. If nothing else, I am happy to keep trying until something sticks and not have any regrets. Regrets are for the lazy and stupid.
