NOTE: Some, quite frankly, traumatising things happen to Klonoa throughout the story. If you think you're capable of doing long screams of utter heartbreak and agony, PLEASE include them in your audition. Getting these screams right is VERY important and I wanna make sure whoever I cast can pull them off from the get-go. The other lines are included so I know how you would sound when simply speaking.
Klonoa is an energetic and courageous young boy of nine-ish years of age who cares deeply for those around him. He is the main protagonist of the story and therefore, the most important character to get right. His weapon of choice is the Wind Ring, which he shoots Wind Bullets from to grab and throw his enemies. The Ring is powered by his best friend, the Ring Spirit, Huepow - it doesn't work unless he (or anyone else with the sufficient spiritual energy) is inside.

Hi! Thanks for auditioning! I do think you're onto something here, though I do have some criticism. The delivery of some of these lines (mainly the second provided line - "And I begin to wonder... the dreams I can't remember when I wake up in the morning. Where in the world did they go...?") sound a tad unnatural. Though I did listen to some of your other submissions and liked the way they sounded so I do believe this could just be fixed through good voice direction, which I intend to give out.
Secondly, the screams don't sound quite as traumatised or heartbroken as I would want them to. The ones provided here do come close, especially when I applied an echo effect over them, which I plan to do in the final film - but still aren't quite there. I think adding some gravel (and a lot of it) would definitely help, as well as a slightly more desperate tone. I don't think you need to outright re-audition, though if you think you can pull of screams similar to the ones I want, please send me a sample of that. Also, I'm grateful for the amount of roles you just auditioned for, especially considering the lack of traction this page has been getting lately (likely due to Klonoa's obscurity).
