About: 

Aoharu is a tragic, ghostly figure—once a kind-hearted older brother, now a corrupted yokai-demon known as The Bell Keeper. With a haunting presence and glitching voice, he acts as the main supernatural force behind the cursed game, testing players through emotional and psychological torment. He doesn’t seek revenge—he seeks meaning, and company in his eternal loneliness.

Backstory:

Years ago, Aoharu tried to save his younger siblings during a flash flood. He failed, and each one slipped from his grasp. Consumed by guilt and sorrow, his spirit clung to the church bell tower where they last gathered. A failed spiritual ritual—using a prototype “spirit terminal” to reach the dead—merged his soul with a corrupted digital program. This created Echoes of the Forgotten, a cursed game where grief and gameplay intertwine. He’s been trapped in it ever since, half-remembering, half-glitching—forever reliving the night he lost everything.

Cursed game:

A digital-spiritual hybrid game that traps players between reality and the supernatural. Several demons and yokai inhabit its levels—each linked to an emotion or tragedy—but Aoharu is the system's anchor. He's both boss and guide, the one who offers riddles, choices, or memories before worse enemies appear. If players defeat other demons, they still must face Aoharu last—and emotionally survive his trials.

Description:

Aoharu appears as a sorrowful, ghostlike teen with pale skin, glitch-scarred arms, and flickering black hair. His glowing, watery eyes sometimes bleed static. He wears a tattered school uniform stitched with torn prayer tags and fragments of corrupted code. Often, a bell’s sound precedes his arrival. When calm, his voice is soft and hypnotic—but during conflict, it cracks with high-pitched static and overlapping cries.
