Character Codex -

Samuel Lane is a former general in the United States military and is the current Director Of The Global Defence Department (G.D.D) an international security agency that monitors and maintains global security in relation to meta humans, alien and other high level threats on behalf of world governments. 

In addition Lane is also the estranged father of "Lois Lane" work partner and love interest of Clark Kent/Superman.

Early Life - 

Born into a strict milltary family, Lane was a by the books well behaved child who followed in his forefathers steps and joined the United states milltary as soon as he turned 18, quickly establishing himself as a model solider highly respected by his peers and superiors. Several years into his career he eventually married his wife and soon after had a daughter "Lois" who was born while he was away on duty. A scenario that would come to repeat itself freqaulty throughout her upbringing leading to a strained and distant relationship between he and his daughter.

Soon after his wife died he lost all contact with Lois who saw no reason to stay in touch once her mother was out of the picture. Some time Thereafter Lane was approached by the GDD and became the director of operations for the organisations. 

Present Day - 

Now almost 8 years into his post as G.D.D Director, Lane is well embedded into the world of planetary and International security on the forefront of important decisions that serve to balance the scales in favour of stability, none of which are ever easy to burden. 

Even amongst it all Lane still finds time to spare his daughter a silent thought now and then often reflecting on the time missed and the more present role he could have taken to be a better father 

Personality & Characteristics -

First and foremost a military man, Lane is a level headed and professional individual with a rational and strategic mind that has served him well during the many intense and complex situations he has had to helm and navigate through during his time. He is hardly a pleasant man but is far from a disrespectful one as he only ever acts in  accordance with the duty he has to weigh the needs of the many above that of the few. He is stern when needed and understanding when required but he is a man who will never back down and always runs a tight ship with an iron first of efficiency. 

He can best be described as: firm, stern, logical, rational, level headed, loyal, duty bound, loyal, responsible.
