Class Session 2
BunWithFun for Role
Full details of homework is on Closing Credits
Awesome read mate, you had a great voice for the classic happy go lucky commercial read. Fun peaks and valleys in tone that kept the read interesting and fun to listen to.
In terms of pacing I actually want to skip to how you took the tongue twister. Your pacing was wonderful. Your clarity was beautiful. This was exactly what I want you to replicate for the entirety of the read. It felt as if this was what you wanted to go for but a few times through the script read, you lost that measured dictated pace and sped up a little bit loosing some of that sweet sweet clarity. It was never for very long nor did it happen to many times, but because of the difference in clarity, it stuck out when the pacing change. Additionally, it gave the read a bit of tension as the energy of the read would ebb and flow alongside the pace. In an exercise like this practicing the articulation, keeping the pace and energy steady will help the articulation take center stage and come easier. It will also help in your pronunciation, giving you more time to break up a word and hit the consonants in it.
In a commercial read like this, the client name/product name, number, and address should be of specific concern to you as that's what they will want to be the most clear to their prospective audience/ customers. So make sure to give those items care and clarity to breath in the script and be heard. You hit Barret's Burrow's Bug Blood Bonanza a little fast each time it came up and I can see a client wanting retakes just so the name comes out more measured and clear to the audience.
Great practice and great read here, Looking forward to more!
Thanks very much for the feedback. I am taking to heart the need to slow down and speak more clearly.
