Full details of homework is on Closing Credits
Your inflection is pretty good, I think you could slow down just a little bit
Great read! Very clean overall - good projection and enunciation and accurate.
When you misread or have a little stumble (happens to everyone and it’s okay!), it’s highly encouraged to start again at the beginning of the sentence or paragraph or a point that would make it easy to remove and replace the mistake during editing. If you just keep going and don’t return to a solid point that makes it easy to edit out the mistake, you may need to come back later and re-record as a pick-up, and it becomes challenging to make it sound the same as the original recording. So, a good rule of thumb is to record so that it’s easy to edit later. When the mistakes are then edited out, it will sound like you read everything perfectly.
For repeated words, look for ways to say the words differently - “change-up” to keep it interesting - varying pace, pitch, etc. in the way you read the words. I did hear some variation, but there is room to explore variations even a little further to make it even more lively.
When doing auditions, you will want to edit out any extra mouth clicks or background noises/shuffles or movement. I would also edit out the nose inhale/exhale breaths/sniffles. It’s okay to leave regular breaths in, but if they stand out or are particularly loud you may want to lower the volume on them. Try adjusting your microphone so that you speak just passed the mic at a slight offset to limit plosives and/or move just slightly further away from the mic. Generally a good distance as a rule of thumb is the space between your pinky and thumb when they are extended apart from each other.
For the purpose of this homework to work on projection, I felt you did well with it overall, although there is some room to practice projecting even more such as with the scenario of being in a gym or large auditorium with no microphone and you need your voice to be heard in every single corner of the room. Engage with your diaphragm and take in a big, deep breath to fill up your lungs so that you have the power to push your voice out even further. You can turn the gain down a bit if you feel it will be too loud during recording to keep it from clipping.
Great work overall! I could definitely hear you in commercials and/or announcer-type spots.
