Your projection definitely needs to be ramped up a bit. Remember, you're in a gym full of people, and without a microphone, you need to project your voice as though you’re speaking to someone at the back of the room. Think about speaking from your diaphragm to really push that sound and fill the space. This will help ensure that everyone can hear you clearly, no matter where they are. Also, I want you to slow down a bit. There were parts of the read that felt rushed, which made it sound like you were eager to get through it. Take your time with the script and fully engage with each moment. Remember, the audience only hears your performance once, so give yourself permission to really sit in each part of the script.
Additionally, I want you to think about something that genuinely excites you and use that energy when performing. When you're passionate about something, it naturally shines through in your voice, making it more dynamic and engaging. Try adding a smile to your delivery too—this can not only make your performance sound warmer, but it’ll also help your voice feel more relaxed and inviting. Smiling while speaking naturally lifts your tone and makes your words feel more welcoming and authentic.
Your articulation was solid, and I want to give you props for that—it was really clear. Keep working on your breathing exercises so you’re not running out of breath mid-sentence. Slowing down will also help you maintain better control over your breath, which will make your delivery feel smoother. Overall, with more practice on projection, maintaining a consistent smile, and managing your pacing, you’ll become more confident and effective in your voice acting. Keep up the great work and enjoy the process!
