Aye, Colleen, so you're finally here at 101. This was a solid read overall, and you’re on the right track, but there are a few areas that need attention. First and foremost, projection is something you need to focus on, especially when imagining yourself in a large space like a gym full of people. Without a microphone, you need to rely on your diaphragm to project your voice, ensuring that everyone, even those in the back of the room, can hear you clearly. This not only improves the clarity of your performance but also helps build authority and presence. When you use your diaphragm and project properly, it makes your voice feel fuller and stronger, which will help capture your audience’s attention. Always remember the setting of your scripts. If you're on a battlefield, you have to make sure you're loud enough for your comrades to hear you.

I did notice a couple of misread words, like saying "mess" instead of "muss." It’s a small mistake, but one that can easily be avoided with careful attention. It’s always a good idea to listen back to your recordings to catch these errors and fine-tune your delivery. Even minor mispronunciations can pull the listener out of the moment, so being mindful of these details is key. Double-checking your script and pronunciation before you hit record can help you avoid these small but important missteps.

Now, your delivery was interesting because it sounded like you were flirting with your audience, which could be a unique route if that was your intention. However, my advice would be to focus on something you genuinely get excited about and use that energy to fuel your performance. Authentic excitement is often the most engaging, and when you really feel what you’re saying, it comes across as more natural and grounded. Since I know you, I can tell that you’re putting on a particular voice, and while that can definitely work in certain situations, I think you’d connect better with your audience if you leaned into something that feels more genuine and real to you. Overall, this was a solid performance with a lot of potential. With some adjustments to projection, emotional connection, and clarity, you’ll continue to grow. Keep up the great work!

It's so great to be here i'm positively buzzing with excitement! Thank you for the feed back. Flirting with the audience was not the intention on the read. I also assumed "muss" was a spelling mistake. I'll pay closer attention to your feed back and read as written going forward!

Yea these types of reads are better for like make-up brands things like lipstick, mascara, luxury bags things that lead heavy into the sultry style. Not so much a bunch of pencils sharpers lol
