Entregame Lay-off (A playtonic's Story) Rare and Playtonic
Blurry for Playtonic (if you are a girl you can also try because he has a kid voice)
🎮 Character: Playtonic
Voice Type: Young boy – soft, emotional, a bit shaky. His voice still has a childlike tone, even though he tries to act mature. Think of a sensitive young indie developer in the body of a fragile little boy.
Age (vocal): Sounds like a 10- to 12-year-old boy, but carries the emotional weight of someone much older.
Personality:
Playtonic is gentle, kind-hearted, and deeply emotional. He’s a dreamer who wanted to create magical games and protect his team like a family. But now, after making painful business decisions (layoffs), he's filled with guilt and shame. He's not cold or corporate – he genuinely cares about the people he let go, and he's crushed by the idea of disappointing others.
He speaks softly, hesitantly, and often sounds on the verge of tears – especially when talking to Rare, his older “brother” figure. He has trouble expressing himself clearly under pressure, but his words are always sincere.
Tone Suggestions:
Trembling voice when nervous or crying
Hesitations, stutters, coughs (from stress or emotion)
Occasionally childlike when he says things like “I just wanted to be like you…”
Needs to feel vulnerable, but lovable – someone the audience wants to hug

(hesitant, anxious): Uh… I… I’m here to see Rare. I… I have an appointment.
No, wait… it’s not what you think!
(weeping): I… I… I was going to die if I kept them… I regret it… so much… (cough cough) And now they hate me… Just like the fans… whose hearts I broke…
