Since this has to sound like it was made in the '50s, if your voice doesn't have the qualities they were looking for back then, if you don't sound like someone they would've hired back then, then this won't work. So, I'm looking for those specific vocal qualities, in addition to the following, of course.

Nelson's your buddy. He's the de facto leader of the Ptolemy's crew, but first and foremost, he's a friend to all. The original inspiration was Frankie Thomas as Tom Corbett, in the 1950s sci fi TV show Tom Corbett Space Cadet. But Chris Parnell, as Dr Spaceman, not when he sounds pathetic as Jerry Smith, can have a very "faithful friend" quality to his voice, almost like Samwise Gamgee with a transatlantic accent. And the accent is important in order to be time and genre appropriate. Snappy line deliveries are also a huge part of the genre, so they're something of a must.

Voice description:

  • Welcome to the distant future; the year two thousand and five.

  • Your hostility gets us nowhere and, unless he lacks even a shred of decency and dignity, I’m sure he feels bad enough as it is.

  • Circles. Just trading insults, talking in circles. Look, there’s plenty of room here. Why don’t you two start walking in circles instead? Who knows? Maybe you'll start talking straight again.
