Good start for identifying the scene and the context for the script. Be sure you are considering the who (who you are and who you are talking to), what, why, when, where, and how of the situation. What does the son look like? Hair color? Eye color? Age? Why are you telling him this information? How does the son react as you tell him these things? Audience reaction can impact how the lines are delivered. Is he scared? In awe? Bored?

For actual auditions and gigs you will want to remove the mouse clicks.

Read “Grand Federation” instead of “Great Federation”

Read “culinaries” instead of “colonies”

When you trip up in your read or stumble a little, be sure to start again at the beginning of the sentence so you can easily edit out the flubs later.

Be sure to go back and quality check what you’ve recorded and check for any missed or changed words. This is important for auditions and gigs that you accurately read the script provided.

Really nicely performed! Great work with the emotions and the breaths for emphasis that set up moments within the script. It definitely felt like you were lifting the words off the page. Nice changes pacing, emotions, volume and inflections. Really good!
