Akira Mibu was once a state-appointed executioner in a corrupt system, a relic of a justice machine that ran on blood and bureaucracy. But when he began to perform executions outside of legal bounds—targeting inmates for personal reasons—he was finally caught. Or so it seemed. The evidence against him “disappeared” before trial. To avoid the looming backlash, Akira turned to the gathering for refuge as they accepted him as trans.
