Yusuke is an artist studying under the famous painter Madarame. As the Phantom Thieves attempt to steal Madarame’s heart, he eventually joins them and discovers his teacher has been plagiarizing and abusing his students. In fact, Madarame had plagiarized the work of Yusuke’s mother and only took Yusuke in to hide the truth and use his artistic talents for his own gain. After Madarame is arrested, Yusuke tries to explore humanity and art on his own. He’s very much a starving artist and often laments the prices of things like train tickets. As an artist, he can be rather eccentric and he doesn’t seem to understand social norms. Although he can be over the top, he gives everything to his art. Yusuke is a potential romance route for the male protagonist.
