Class Session 3
Austin Murdaugh for Role
Full details of homework is on Closing Credits
Great job overall! Now, if you are able to announce a live game or event in ad-lib/improv the way you did with the written script you could definitely look into voice acting for live events / “Voice of God”. Might be worth training for or looking into if this interests you!
0:04 The “b” in “volleyball” felt like it wasn’t fully pronounced
0:14 Sounds like an extra “sh” sound was added. When you misread, stumble a little, or hit an odd pace or breath (happens to everyone and it’s okay!), it’s highly encouraged to start again at the beginning of the sentence or paragraph or a point that would make it easy to remove and replace the mistake during editing. If you just keep going and don’t return to a solid point that makes it easy to edit out the mistake, you may need to come back later and re-record, and it becomes challenging to make it sound the same as the original recording. So, a good rule of thumb is to record so that it’s easy to edit later. (Similar comment at 1:02)
0:53 missed the word “in”
1:10 The word “match” feels like it was a little underpronounced and could have used a tad more energy/clarity.
1:33 missed the word “a”
2:02 It felt like “phenomenally scrumptious” was a little slurred.
Really nicely done overall! Great energy and humanisms. Really liked the throaty/gravel you threw in as you got excited when you said “What a guy!” Well played.
Excellent work!
Thank you! It means a lot that you think I have a voice for this. I'll work on enunciation more for next time
