Doctor Starline (ドクター・スターライン[10], Dokutā Sutārain?) is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. He was an anthropomorphic duck-billed platypus and a shadowy scientist who was highly interested in Dr. Eggman and his work. After the War to Take Back the Planet, Starline found an amnesiac Eggman and helped restore his memories. He then served as his apprentice during the Metal Virus pandemic, but got fired after seeing Eggman's flaws.
"I won't be conquering the world to prove myself to Dr. Eggman. I'll conquer it to prove it to myself. And I won't be proving I'm Eggman's equal. I'll prove I'm his superior replacement"

But now it looks like the real cause is Eggman can't plan for or adapt to the long-term."
