Nice job!

0:03 You will want to edit down the amount of silence at the beginning of the file. Try to keep it at most around 0.5 seconds.

0:29 “Entrée” was read as “entry”. Be careful about changing the words in the script. :)

0:46 Missed the word “are” in “all sales are final”

0:49, 1:10 When you misread (happens to everyone and it’s okay!), it’s highly encouraged to start again at the beginning of the sentence or paragraph or a point that would make it easy to remove and replace the mistake during editing. If you just keep going and don’t return to a solid point that makes it easy to edit out the mistake, you may need to come back later and re-record, and it becomes challenging to make it sound the same as the original recording. So, a good rule of thumb is to record so that it’s easy to edit later.

0:59  To take things to the next level, ensure that any repeated words or similar patterns stay different by using change-ups and variation to keep things interesting.

Overall, this was very well read even at the quick pace. The next step after reading well, is having confidence in your read - people want to hear what you have to say and you’re the “expert” on the copy/script. :) Also, people can hear when you smile when you talk, so if this is a positive message you're conveying, try delivering it with a warm smile or excitement in your voice. Our ability to include emotion in our reads is part of what makes us different from the AI and helps us stand out.

For the purpose of this homework to work on projection, I felt that you did well with it, however, there may be room to do more with projection. Think about the scene of being in a gym or large auditorium with no microphone and you need your voice to be heard in every single corner of the room. Engage with your diaphragm and take in a big, deep breath to fill up your lungs so that you have the power to push your voice out.

When you’re ready to take the next step to improve your voiceover recording, you will want to look into treating your recording space with acoustic foam and/or blankets to help reduce the reflections and reverb in the space. It’s not necessary for this class however as we are focusing on the basics of voice acting.

Keep up the good work!
