As the oldest member of the Studio, he's the one that knows all the ins and outs behind what goes on. Or... at least he tries to. Once Dee was hired on, he felt a growing pressure to remain a good mentor, despite not knowing or being as capable as he had hoped to be. Despite this, he puts on a mask to retain this persona. Think Gumball Waterson's personality but with a smidgen more integrity. Think Artie Bucco when it comes to voice references from the Sopranos.
