Good read! I love the smile you read with. It came through with nice warmth. Your accent is a great addition to your voice acting toolbox. And, if you speak another language fluently, I would definitely post that on your website when you have one because that puts you ahead in the game being multilingual!

0:02 read “selections” instead of “selection” - be aware of changing words and dropping or adding “s”

0:35 “Entrée” was read as “entry”. Be careful about changing the words in the script. :)

1:01 read “two to the customer” instead of “two to a customer”

1:05 read “battery” instead of “batteries”

1:07 read “mile-age” as two words, however it’s spoken as one word “mileage”. Don’t be afraid to look up how to pronounce words online if you aren’t familiar with them. Some great reference sources include Cambridge Dictionary (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/), youglish.com, and forvo.com and You Tube Videos among other places (there’s a lot of options out there). You can simply type in “How to pronounce [word]” in Google search and it should give you several references. (Also applies at 1:56 and 2:31 for “gourmet” and 2:39 for “genuine”)

1:36 read “that just” instead of “that’s just”

2:05 “if you act now” was kind of run together -  be sure to enunciate and clearly pronounce all of the words.

2:36 read “magniflying” instead of “magnifying”

I noticed you did very well with going back to a good spot on several places where you tripped in your read. When you misread (happens to everyone and it’s okay!), it’s highly encouraged to start again at the beginning of the sentence or paragraph or a point that would make it easy to remove and replace the mistake during editing. If you just keep going and don’t return to a solid point that makes it easy to edit out the mistake, you may need to come back later and re-record, and it becomes challenging to make it sound the same as the original recording. So, a good rule of thumb is to record so that it’s easy to edit later.

It sounds like you were a little close to the microphone perhaps. Try to adjust the angle of the microphone so that you speak just passed the mic at a slight offset to limit plosives and/or move just slightly further away from the mic. Generally a good distance as a rule of thumb is the space between your pinky and thumb when they are extended apart from each other.

Continue to practice reading out loud and focusing on enunciation and articulation - the more you do it the easier it will become.

For the purpose of this homework to work on projection, I felt that you did well with it, however, there may be room to do more with projection. Think about the scene of being in a gym or large auditorium with no microphone and you need your voice to be heard in every single corner of the room. Engage with your diaphragm and take in a big, deep breath to fill up your lungs so that you have the power to push your voice out.

Nice work overall! Well done.
