This had a good pacing and nice energy! Your voice does seem like it wants to naturally go into a thriller-style movie trailer in the way it deepens and lingers on the last part of a lot of the words -- which sounds good and would be great for that kind of audition, but for something like this it feels like there would need to be more variation (just my opinion, though, I could be wrong). You've got a lovely voice, though!

Excellent read. You have a good old-school announcer voice in your voice acting tool belt which definitely has roles out there. Pacing was great and good use of variation throughout your read. Around the end of the third paragraph starting around “batteries not included” there was a slight bit of repetition/staccato that was developing but it wasn’t overly pronounced. All the items in the list kind of went down at the end and were about the same amount of words creating a pattern. Lists like these can make it easy to develop rhythm so the next level is to ensure that any repeated words or similar patterns stay different using change-ups to keep things interesting.

To further improve your read, I would add a pop filter if you don’t already have one to reduce the sound of plosives. Also, adjust the angle of the microphone so that you speak just passed the mic at a slight offset to limit plosives and/or move just slightly further away from the mic. Generally a good distance as a rule of thumb is the space between your pinky and thumb when they are extended apart from each other.

For the purpose of this homework to work on projection, I felt you did very well with it overall. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for all the detailed thoughts, very helpful, and totally agree on needing a solution for my explosive "P's" and other consonants (like a pop filter).
