When The Shutter Stops

halfnote5 for Radio Host (Conspiracy Nut)

Radio Host (Conspiracy Nut)
closed
Unpaid
cast offsite

This role is for a skit to be used as a promo for the visual novel and potentially incorporated into the visual novel itself.

The ideal candidate will have a Philadelphia English accent, though General American or British English would be acceptable.  Both male and female auditions will be accepted for this role.

This character is part of a trashy news radio station that deals mostly in local news and national politics, and emphasizes a connection between those in power and corruption, regardless of the truth.  Their reputation for pointing fingers and jumping to wild conclusions without evidence, especially this host, has caused the radio station to have a near comical value.  Despite this, the host's fanatical devotion to seeking justice persists despite criticisms.

  • *Say something you think would fit* (Improvisation welcome)

  • But I know the truth! Buncha' filthy, stinkin' liars!

  • They took that little girl, that poor little girl, and used her as bait to catch a monster.

The lizard-people bit had me laughing. Nice. ^_^

I absolutely love the character, and I had to catch my breath from laughing when I first heard this, but the character we're looking for here is more of a social/political commentator that insists 9/11 was an inside job and that doomsday-preppers are good company, and a bit less of a crazy old coot in the mountains. I'd like to keep you in mind for other characters, as your voice range is very impressive, but if you have the time, and if you're interested, I'd welcome a reattempt of the audition.

Heheh. Thanks! I can resubmit as a little more believable sort. ^_^

...And I've got it uploaded. Thanks! I tried for a more "modern radio blowhard" from the '90s-to-now kinda feel.

Great, thanks! We'll give it a listen sometime this afternoon.
