Reese, a former Acolyte of the Lumbridge Church, together with two other Zamorakians, Kayle and Caitlin, formed a blood pact. The pact binds the three to their mission of sacrificing Ilona, an innocent wizard from the Wizards' Tower, in order to harness the power of Dragith Nurn; a long-dead necromancer buried in the Lumbridge Catacombs.
