Description: Steve Leonard is Darren's best friend, and his deep interest in vampires plays a significant role in the Cirque du Freak series. He discovers that Larten is a vampire and desperately begs him to turn him into one, but Larten refuses, deeming his blood "bad." This causes Steve to spiral into a darker path. He becomes the first to realize that Darren is no longer human and, overwhelmed by feelings of abandonment and betrayal, becomes determined to hunt down and kill both Darren and Larten.
