That's to be expected from an audition with no contextual clues. If I saw a script and knew the lead up to this line, it would better prepare me for a more accurate reactionary line.
no offense bet everyone else is doing just fine with the context given. and this is often how its given professionally so working with that kind of thought process will not get you very far
