Akai is a close friend of Shun's and a player in the handball team. It is unclear whether he can see through Shun's blunders, but he is always there cheer him on and be a voice of reason.


Similarly, Kurosaki is a voice of reason to Hayate. As one of Hayate's classmates, Kurosaki knows his friend's struggles, constantly encouraging him to put himself out there more.
