Sota is Souma's brother and Takayuki's coworker. Given the amount of time he spends with the group, he's kind of an unofficial member of the Play It Cool gang. He wears many hats throughout the series, including being a brother, mentor, and friend. Much like his brother, he is full of energy and passion especially for his work.
Similarly, Kida is an energetic fella. He is a friend to Shun with whom he plays handball with.
