zmand97 for Audio Engineer
Audio Engineer for Cosmic Chaos (13+ Animated Series)
Role:
We are looking for a skilled audio engineer to join the Cosmic Chaos team. As the audio engineer, you will be responsible for recording, mixing, and mastering all audio elements of the show, including voice acting, sound effects, and music. You will work closely with the director, voice actors, and sound designers to create a fully immersive audio experience that complements the animation and enhances the storytelling.
Project Type:
Cosmic Chaos is a 13+ animated series set in a futuristic world where technology and magic coexist. The show features action-packed sequences, magical elements, and intense emotional moments. The audio will play a vital role in immersing viewers into this world by ensuring the dialogue, sound effects, and music are seamlessly integrated.
Responsibilities:
Voice Recording:
The audio engineer will be responsible for recording the voice acting performances, ensuring the voice talent sounds clear and balanced. You will also manage any necessary ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) sessions to ensure high-quality recordings.
Sound Design:
Work closely with the sound designer to create and implement sound effects, ambient noises, and special effects. This includes everything from background noises (like futuristic city sounds) to action sounds (like explosions, tech noises, and magic effects).
Mixing & Mastering:
The audio engineer will mix the voice acting with sound effects and music, ensuring that each audio element is balanced and cohesive. This will involve using equalisation (EQ), compression, and level control to make sure all sounds are crystal clear and appropriately layered. The final mix will need to be mastered for delivery in the required format.
Foley:
You will work on capturing or designing any additional sound effects, such as footsteps, clothing rustling, and more. These Foley elements will help add an extra layer of realism and immersion to the animated series.
Syncing Audio with Animation:
The ability to ensure that the audio is perfectly synced with the animation is crucial. This includes syncing voice lines, sound effects, and musical cues with specific scenes and actions in the animation.
Ideal Skills:
Experience with Sound Editing and Mixing:
Previous experience in sound editing and mixing for animation or game audio is highly desirable. You should be comfortable working with multitrack sessions and ensuring all audio layers are polished and balanced.
Proficiency in Audio Software:
The audio engineer should be proficient with professional audio software such as Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Logic Pro, Reaper, or similar. Familiarity with DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) and audio plugins for mixing is essential.
Voice Editing and Noise Removal:
You should be skilled in editing dialogue tracks, removing background noise, improving clarity, and enhancing the quality of voice recordings, making them sound natural and professional.
Sound Design and Foley:
Experience in sound design, including creating futuristic sounds, magic effects, and mechanical noises. Familiarity with Foley recording techniques and sound libraries will be a big plus.
Music Integration:
The audio engineer will also need to work with the composer to integrate music into the mix, ensuring the soundtracks blend seamlessly with the rest of the audio elements.
What We Need from You:
A demo reel showcasing your sound engineering skills, ideally with examples of your work on animation, video games, or film. Please highlight any work that involved integrating voice acting with sound effects and music.
Experience working with remote teams and meeting deadlines. You should be comfortable with online collaboration using tools like Google Drive, Dropbox, or other cloud platforms.
Clear communication and an ability to take feedback constructively, as we will be working closely to fine-tune the audio to fit the animation and vision for Cosmic Chaos.
Bonus Skills:
Familiarity with spatial audio techniques or soundscapes that could help immerse the viewer in the futuristic and magical world of Cosmic Chaos.
Experience with field recording or custom sound creation would be beneficial for capturing unique effects for the show.
