Voice ONE OC, cuz I need it for another RP
Chimuflower for Zephaniah Typha
Zephaniah Typha is a cringe-y OC I made quite recently and plan on incorporating into a casting call I'm joined in, but since I don't have a MAN enough voice for it I'm heading to CCC once more. Zephaniah is a normally opinionated, edgy teenager/emo, but since the RP is in a medieval fantasy like time it'll be somewhat harder to incorporate some stereotypical norms.
It's not just a phase, mom! (Optional)
What makes you so special, huh? You brought this upon yourself, so face the consequences. (Preferably blunt, but you can play with the emotions on this one)
But, mom! What do you mean you already signed me up for guards training? I told you I don't want to live that life! I want to study magic, to-to heal people, and make your lives better. You know what happens to guards, mom. They get killed. Just like dad was. (You can be an emo teen on this one with angsty-ness, but-and I know I already put but once-it is preferred to be louder at the start and sober down to a regular talking voice or smaller.)
I know I'm not the best, but I'm new to voice acting like this.
You did great! I couldn't have even known you were a beginner. I may use the word "love" loosely, but I LOVED your audition! There was a different take to the character compared to the first auditioner and you really brought something new to the table. Your sound was clear, and your voice audible, there was barely any noise in the background, and your emotions really got across. I especially liked the part where you paused after "make" and continued to enunciate the "your lives better" part because it brought in more of Zephaniah's raw emotions in a way. During the "to-to heal people" it was quite forceful to get the point across, but after when you pronounced "lives" and "better" with a pause it seemed like in that pause Zeph was really thinking about how to change his mother's mind and enunciated the words to get her to understand. It was...amazing (I use that word loosely, too, but everyone awes me with their talent). The only thing that I say would've somewhat given you away on the beginner part would be the pop of your words once you get riled up. The emotion was great, but the "pop" kinda took away from what you were saying. I don't have any good advice, but you could get a bit farther from your mic, or get a pop filter/make one. I'm not as experienced as some others such as Methyst, but she gives good advice in her comments. You should check out her profile to look for advice if you want any. Oh, and before I forget..Thank you for auditioning! -Grelik
Thank you. I had fun making this audition, it also felt natural for most of the things I did in character
I have made a pop filter and will use it until I get a studio quality mic with a pop filter on it
Wow that was fast! I don't know how else to respond. You must really enjoy voice acting. You're taking initiative and excepting criticism, I like it! Some people I've seen have responded quite negatively to advice from others or haven't responded whatsoever when it came to that topic. (I'm sorry I haven't replied any sooner though, I've been doing infrequent checkups) While I am mildly surprised I like your work ethic/just passion for your hobby. Thanks for replying back, and apparently already making a pop filter, I mean wow just...that's amazing! Sorry for the more word vomit -Grelik
Thank you for considering me for the part.
Also, I plan on getting a actual microphone for this, so I don't have to use my headset for it.
Wow! You were using a headset? I couldn't even tell. Heck, it sounded so similar to a 40 some dollar mic stand that it would've been just fine if you audition with just that. Does that mean you'll try to re-audition for the part? Since you said "for this", I was just wondering, but....wow. Voice acting must mean a lot for you to just go and buy equipment. I wish I was that dedicated! I'd have to cut this short considering the amount I wrote so far, but I'll wish you luck on your journey. (salutes) -Grelik
If the spot is still open, I would like to make another audition, but with my new mic.
