Other than rushing a little at the end, everything was pretty solid.

Hey, you! It’s the police—pull over so I can give you a speeding ticket for reading that script so fast! Jokes aside, I do want to emphasize the importance of slowing down when you read. While your articulation was mostly clear, slowing your pace will ensure that everyone can follow along comfortably. Remember, the audience only gets to hear your performance once, so you want to make sure they can understand and engage with everything you’re saying.

Keep the prompt in mind—imagine yourself in a gymnasium without a microphone. To make sure the audience hears you in such a large space, you’ll need to project even more than you’re currently doing. Projection isn’t just about speaking louder; it’s about using your diaphragm to create a strong, supported breath that gives your voice power and resonance. Slowing down also helps with projection because it allows you to focus on each word and prevents them from blending together, which can sometimes happen when you’re moving too quickly.

Practicing breathing exercises will help you strengthen your breath support and improve your overall projection. Techniques like diaphragmatic breathing or straw breathing are great for building this foundation. Over time, these exercises will give you the stamina and control to project effortlessly while maintaining clarity.

When it comes to reading long lists or sections with repetitive elements, think about how to keep your audience engaged. Vary your pacing, tone, and volume to create more interest and draw attention to key points. For example, you can slow down and emphasize certain words for dramatic effect or increase your volume slightly on important phrases to make them stand out. Adding this variety will keep your delivery dynamic and avoid monotony.

Lastly, you did a fantastic job with your enunciation—it’s clear you’ve put effort into making sure every word is understood. That’s a strong skill to build on. Keep up the great work, and with some tweaks to your pacing and projection, you’ll bring even more impact to your performance. You’re doing an awesome job—keep it up!

I appreciate the feedback! I'll keep practicing the breathing exercises. I usually record sitting down. I'll do the next audition standing up and see if that helps with the diaphragmatic breathing.

    Thanks again.
