• Charles and Louis are cousins and have been rivals since childhood. Their interactions are cordial due to their status, but always tinged with a hint of defiance and animosity. Charles is rather condescending, the king's favorite, and the potential heir to the throne should Louis choose to abdicate.
• In this first scene, Charles and Louis engage in conversation after the previous night's ball. Charles attempts to unsettle Louis by striking at his sensitive spots.
• In this second scene, Charles has taken Louis prisoner and visits him in the castle dungeon to secure his abdication. As usual, he tries to unsettle Louis by pressing on a sensitive spot—the strained relationship between Louis and the king, his father. 
• This character has three scenes. The rate of $175 per finished hour applies, with a minimum fee of $20.
