Sinclair initially comes off as one of the more passive sinners, he often avoids confrontations whenever possible. Similar to his literary portrayal, Sinclair shows a fear of uncertainty and is displayed as a timid character. He often doubts himself and externally monologues his uncertainty- but has his moments of boldness.
